Currently, JV Consulting is working in Aerospace and Defense, Clean Energy, Healthcare, Logistics, Security, Space, and Telecommunications.  In the past seven years we have worked with the Singapore Space and Technology Association, PRTM, Accenture, David Lawrence Associates, National University of Singapore, the Singapore Armed Forces, and Cubic Corporation.  We have worked with MNCs, governments, universities, public and private institutions, NGOs, and other community organizations.

JV Consulting is led by Jim Tietjen, who has over 42 years experience in the global workforce, including 27 years in Asia and Europe.   Jim had a successful career in the U.S. Government as a diplomat, senior policy advisor, and strategic planner.  He flew jet fighters in the U.S. Air Force.  He currently flies private aircraft. 

During government service Jim successfully negotiated and concluded government-to-government agreements; planned and executed U.S. Presidential visits; helped host numerous Cabinet-level visitors; and, facilitated many foreign policy decisions.  At various times he acted as personal advisor to the Commanders of Pacific Air Forces and Pacific Command, and the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.  He was responsible for DoD participation in many major air shows and led and trained hundreds of officers in six front-line operational fighter squadrons.  Jim has lived and worked in Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and USA.

Select Project Experience

·   Corporate Strategy.  At Accenture Corporation Jim helped develop their growth strategy for their Southeast Asia Aerospace and Defense practice, starting from scratch.

·   Leadership.  With Cubic Corporation, Jim guided the Singapore Armed Forces through a strategic, competency-based leadership paradigm shift.

·   Project Management.  Hand-picked by the National University of Singapore, Jim led the effort to showcase the Alfred Nobel Prize Exhibition in collaboration with the Nobel Museum in Stockholm.  

·   Personnel Management.  With David Lawrence Associates Jim directed their Aerospace and Technology practice for Southeast Asia, providing executive search and consultancy services.

·   Diplomacy.  At the pinnacle of his government career Jim was an accredited U.S. diplomat for seven years.  He worked with diplomats and governments and advised ambassadors, military, and government leaders on sensitive political issues.

·   Policy.  As a senior policy adviser to the U.S. Pacific Command Commander Jim recommended, crafted, and advocated policies regarding critical political-military relationships in Southeast Asia.

·   Aviation Experience.  As both a military and civil aviator Jim has flown high-performance jet fighters and commercial aircraft throughout Asia, Europe, and USA.  Jim has advised major aviation companies on programs of national and international importance.  Jim still flies private aircraft.
